Hi, I’m Jess!
I elevate brands through creative content and impactful marketing.

My Work
TL;DR: I’m a people-person who writes cool stuff.
I’m a marketer, communicator, and people-person with a passion for engaging content. Whether I’m working with global B2B or niche B2C brands, my guiding star is people: what motivates them, what interests them, and (ultimately) what makes their lives better.
My work primarily focuses on content marketing, with a healthy dose of event and partnership marketing in the mix. Through it all, I take a creative and data-driven approach: brainstorming to find big, exciting ideas, then honing them into strategies that really work.

Blog: Daxtra
At Daxtra, I drove a rework of our content strategy, pivoting from reactive blog announcements to comprehensive, full-funnel content marketing (which, by the way, increased our MQLs by 18% within a year).
This included owning Daxtra’s blog content and leveraging it to drive thought leadership, improve brand awareness, and establish a more modern brand voice.
“Rich Data, Poor Data,” is one of several blog posts that served to position Daxtra as a thought leader among its target audience.

White Paper: Daxtra
AI is everywhere - and in the early days of its explosion, I wrote and edited this white paper for Daxtra, to guide their audience of recruiters through their first implementation of generative AI tools.
Speaking to end-users, decision makers and thought leaders across staffing and enterprise HR operations, this white paper presented the latest industry predictions about AI and gave practical tips to help responsibly implement generative AI into the recruiting process.

Annual Report: PATH Foundation
Each year, the PATH Foundation presents its impact on the community in an annual report.
I owned the production of this report: from conception and drafting to art direction and distribution.
I managed agency teams, writers, and designers, and interviewed community members to accurately represent the Foundation’s work, all through the lens of ethical storytelling. It’s a labor of love and care that ultimately shows in the final product.

Blog: Corpay One
As a content marketer at Corpay One, I created content that appealed to customers at various stages of the funnel. This piece shared informative, educational content, while also relating to relevant product features and value propositions.

Profiles: Western Colorado University
At WCU, I played a significant role in developing a series of profiles that highlighted the diverse stories of students, faculty, and alumni.
We created this series to humanize the university and showcase the unique experiences and achievements of individuals within our community.
Ultimately, it helped prospective students see themselves reflected in the people who made WCU their home, and highlighted the sense of adventure that is central to WCU’s brand identity.

PR: Primrose Schools
I started my career at Jackson Spalding in Atlanta. There, I worked on public relations for the Primrose Schools account.
Among multiple campaigns, press releases, and media relations, I earned a placement in Forbes, highlighting the client’s franchising efforts and brand history—elevating brand awareness and thought leadership on a national scale.
Research
As a marketer, research is often at the heart of what I do. My proudest research achievement, though, was in 2017—when I created, administered, and analyzed all phases of research to better understand how college-aged women perceive the outdoors.
“College-Aged Women in the Outdoors: Formative Communications Research on Preferred Messages" studied which messages were most effective in encouraging college-aged women to participate in outdoor activity.
The study was performed via an online survey with 109 participants between the ages of 18 and 24 who attended Berry College. Participants were asked about preferred message type, message source and message channel using McGuire's Communication Matrix Model.
If you have any questions about this research, are interested in the findings, or would like to read the full paper, send me a quick email—I’d love to share more about the project.

Photography
There are a lot of professional photographers out there. I’m not one of them.
But, that’s never stopped me from sharing my photos on Instagram anyway!
